Yakov Smirnoff

There’s this Jewish guy, his name is Yakov Naumovich Pokhis. He was born in Ukraine, emigrated to the United States of America, and became a naturlized citizen. That’s the same background as my mother. Well, anyways, this Yakov guy is better known by his professional stage name – Yakov Smirnoff. I gotta tell ya, he is a comedian that is humorous, entertaining, home-spun — heck, he is downright funny!

  2. How about these three Yakov Smirnoff quotes:

“I like American women. They do things sexually Russian girls never dream of doing – like showering.”
“The ad in the paper said ‘Big Sale. Last Week.’ Why advertise? I already missed it. They’re just rubbing it in.”
