Political Commentators: Washington Fearsome Foursome and Toledo Three Amigos

I found Judy’s Jewels commentary on George Stephanopoulos to be quite interesting. I especially enjoyed the part where she drew an analogy of George Stephanopoulos, James Carville, Rahm Emanuel, and Paul Begala with The Toledo Three Amigos. However, I shudder to think what mi amigos Dave Zawodny and Tim Higgins think of the comparison.

Wonder why? Well take a look at each of the following and then you tell me.

The Washington Fearsome Foursome:
George Stephanopoulos
James Carville
Rahm Emanuel
Paul Begala

The Toledo Three Amigos:
Dave Zawodny
Tim Higgins
Roland Hansen

  1. Tim Higgins says:

Shudder is indeed the word required when looking at the Fearsome Foursome. Another term comes to mind involving a geometric shape, but I will leave it undefined in this polite company. I suspect however, that the vitriol spewed during these roundtables would feel like the blast from a fire hose.

The only thing Mr. Stephanopolis might have going for him each week is that George Will’s intelligence may rub off on him over time.

  2. Roland,

    True enough.

However, after the comment that I left on Judy’s blog, I may have already burnt the bridge back to civility after crossing over to the dark side…

Also, If I am still allowed, I am working on a list of potential Amigos, whom to me significant input to contribute.

I can’t wait to bounce them off of the rest of the amigos, who hopefully have lists of their own for our consideration.

I think that expanding/widening our little circle could be a good thing, as the additions could expand our overall understanding of why Toledo is the way that it is today; and maybe we can help our leaders to figure out how to help fix/heal it…
