The Shofar is an instrument, usually made from the horn of a ram, that makes a trumpet-like sound. Throughout the history of the Jewish people, the Shofar has been used for many purposes. There are religious purposes in the blowing of the Shofar and the Shofar is a special part of Rosh Hashanah. In addition to Rosh Hashanah, there are other holidays associated with the Shofar.
