Walnut Canyon National Monument

Just ten miles from the downtown district of Flagstaff, Arizona lies Walnut Canyon National Monument. Having been established as a national monument back in 1915, the area is replete with cliff dwellings of some ancient peoples and of numerous prehistoric archaeological sites. Walnut Canyon National Monument is under the purview of the National Park Service of the United States Department of the Interior.

If you travel to Arizona for some sightseeing, you just might want to put Walnut Canyon National Monument on your itinerary.
