Corrupt Politicians, Nothing New. Remember Spiro Agnew?

Nowadays, it seeps everyone is talking negatively about politicians saying they are corrupt, lying, thieves. So what else is new (sarcasm on)?

Doesn’t anyone remember Richard Nixon’s Vice President? I refer to Nixon’s first Vice President, a fellow by the name of Spiro Agnew.

In the summer of 1973, during his fifth year as Vice President, Spiro Agnew was under investigation by the United States Attorney’s office in Baltimore, Maryland, on charges of extortion, tax fraud, bribery and conspiracy. In October 1973, Spiro Agnew resigned his position as Vice President of the United States of America.

Oh! Then, there is the matter of Richard Nixon who has the distinction of being the only President of the United States of America to have resigned from the Presidency. This happened less than one year after the resignation of Agnew. It seems that Tricky Dick, er, I mean Dirty Dick, er, er, er, ah, I mean Richard Nixon, aka Dick Nixon, chose to resign rather than face the possibility of removal from office through the impeachment proceedings that were already under way at the time. Seems that the Republican President, Richard Nixon, just like his Republican Vice President Spiro Agnew, was not squeaky clean.
