Cold and Flu. Go Away Coughs and Sneezes.

Sniffle, sniffle.
It is cold and flu season here in Northwest Ohio.
So, what are we going to do about it?
Well, let us look around the internet.

An opening short paragraph from one of the web pages of WebMD, reads:
“Do you know what to do when you catch a cold, or when a cold becomes something more serious? Here, you’ll find the latest information on the common cold — symptoms, prevention, treatment, and even home remedies.”
Go on over to review the rest of the WebMD Cold Guide pages.

From the Mayo Clinic, I suggest you read:
Cold remedies: What works, what doesn’t, what can’t hurt

And from Everyday Roots, you may read:
16 Remedies to Kick the Common Cold

Another suggestion of web pages for you is from Healthline where you may read:

Roland, In all seriousness…as we age, what once were simple illnesses can quickly become something much more dangerous to our lives. Back in September, I thought I just had a nasty cough. It quickly morphed into pneumonia, and a 4-6 week battle to defeat it! That was the first time I ever had pneumonia. Of course, it’s also the first time I was ever 69 years old, too!
Sage advice, my friend, as you so often post!

    • Judy Hansen says:

Hey Dale, that sure is the truth about us being this old! So happy we have a Dr. appt. on Monday. We need to be better now, especially Roland as he is still recuperating from his surgery!

      • Dale Pertcheck says:

Hope that all goes well on Monday. I always say, “Getting old ain’t for sissies.” You’ve got to be tough to be old.

BTW — It took three different antibiotics, plus one injected. I also had, along the way, a steroidal injection and a series of prednisone taken orally, It was just so much fun!!
When I went to my pulmonologist, he was surprised that I had not been in the hospital for it.

  3. Judy Hansen says:

Recent medical science says the old saying is wrong. It should be “feed a cold, feed a fever.” Whatever, this time I’ve just been plain hungry!

    • Dale Pertcheck says:

Have to be careful…if one has a fever, one can also get the upchuck blues…then, if you have eaten a lot…more to “up” when one upchucks
