Some folks believe that November 1 is the Day of the Dead.
Other folks observe November 1 as The Solemnity of All Saints.
Me?
November 1 has two meanings for me this year, one of which happens every few years and the other of which is an annual event. While the every few years event actually happens every year but on different dates in November, the reason that event is so welcome this year on November 1 is that it means there is only one more day until Election Day and that means that there is only one more day that I have to put up with the intolerable and terrible negative campaign ads. The other is the annual occurrence of which I hope I live to see many more; it means there are only 25 more days until my birthday.
